This is the Title of the latest book I am reading. I cannot put it down! It is written by Sheila Walsh. She is a phenomenal Author and guest speaker at the Women of Faith Conferences. Which I was so humbled and excited to be a part of this year! She truly has a gift of speaking, and sharing her testimony and the Love of God!
I want to share a few thoughts in her book that have changed my perspective and my heart ….
ALL ABOUT LOVE -
Prayer is a way for us to experience love. And not just us showing our love for God, but receiving love from God! God longs to share his heart with us. He is not looking for perfect robots to follow directions but people who will share his love. I think it’s very difficult for us to embrace the love of God because we have never been loved that way before. That’s because all human love – even the best we have experienced – is conditional and is impacted by our behavior or changing circumstances. But God’s love is not.
Think of how the love of God has for us is vast like the ocean. It is not beaten or diminshed by time. It is constant, strong, and eternal. There are so many things in this world we can pray for – so many things to ask God to intervene in and change the course of our future. It may not be an answer we see in our lifetime or even ten lifetimes. But unless we pray, we cannot hope for anything different.
PRAYER MAKES A DIFFERENCE IN US
How would it impact your life if you walked around everyday with a deep awareness of being overwhelmingly loved? God wants people who will share His heart and work with Him for things that have eternal worth, not simply people who place value on the words of the moment. If we can look at prayer that way, there’s no way we can doubt the difference it makes in our lives. And yet we can’t help but get discouraged when we are desperate for God to act and heaven seems silent – when even though we want to share His heart, He appears not to see that ours is broken.
Our enemy would love to keep us so distracted and busy that we forget to focus on what really matters: our relationship with our Father. Family, work, friends, even church – if we’re not careful, all these things can end up robbing us of the joy of being children of God. Are you too distracted with earthly things, people, work, and selfish things??
God is waiting to speak to you …. are you listening? Are we being still enough to listen? He wants us to come to Him for everything… every small detail of our daily life.!
