My Little Cupcake

My Little Cupcake
My Little Cupcake

It doesn’t take much for my little girl to be completely thankful and surprised at one inexpensive gift.  She has talked about a cupcake maker for months … after seeing one at Walmart.  When she opened it, she hugged the box for about 10 min. and couldn’t believe she actually had her sweet little hands on one!  Of course I’ve been bugged a million times since Christmas morning … “mommy, we have to make a cupcake now..”   And that is what we did … yesterday …  the day after Christmas.  She is so precise on how the machine works, as she watched her daddy put it together.  I’m telling you – this girl doesn’t miss a thing!  (hmmm, maybe she’s got mommy’s trait of being observant of everything!)  :)   She was so proud of her chocolate cupcake!  It’s so neat to watch the innocence of kids and the smallest things can make their day!  I love you …. my little cupcake!

My girl is growing up.

I was sitting here this morning going thru a bunch of pictures and cannot believe how our little Maddie has changed in just 2 years!  The picture with the flowers, my cousin Shelly had taken it in Michigan at her parents house, and had totally forgotten to send it to me…..from 2 summers ago when I was there!!!!  She felt bad.  When I got it yesterday I gasped… could not believe that is my Maddie.  Chubby, baby-look.  She has gotten so tall, mature, and more “girl-like”.  Which makes it even more unbelievable that she’ll be starting Kindergarten next year..    Wow, where does the time go?  She is definitely always going to be “our baby girl”..  She is the last child.  I need to savor every moment and pray that God will slow me down, have more patience, and ENJOY each and everyday with my girl.  It’ll be a sad time next year when she won’t be “my buddy” during the day, and is off playing, learning, writing, having her own desk, being with little friends….. in Kindergarten.  :(   I love you little Ms. Madison Grace!  You are my “Dolly”.  I called her this at birth til she was about 2.  (it was short for baby doll).  And she will always be her Daddy’s “stinker”..   :)

Meet our family

Jamie Kristen Kevin Maddie

Jamie and I met on Match.com in 2001! ... yes!... a success story online! We married in May 2002, had our house built in Gilbert, moved in July 2002. Kevin, my son, at the time was 7 yrs old was so excited to live in a neighborhood where he could ride his bike to school and met some great friends on our street. The best part for him was having a swimming pool in our own backyard. Many fun birthdays took place there! Madison Grace was born June 7, 2004. Kevin had been an only child for 10 yrs ... so this was a bit of an adjustment, but one he was super proud of, and it was instant love at first sight with his little sister, Maddie. She looks up to her big brother in so many ways, and wants to be wherever he's at! Even though they are 10 yrs apart - I truly believe there will continue to be a very close bond with them, even as they get older. My kids are both compassionate, sensitive, funny, loving, and content. We are truly blessed. Jamie has taken the roll of step-dad, and dad very well and is a great, devoted, hard-working dad and husband! He keeps us all inline! :) God has blessed us in so many ways, and we have so many wonderful friends whom we call "family". It all started when we found Rock Point church! It's a place we call home and are SO thankful for what God is doing in our life and the lives of our closest friends! He is amazing and we can't imagine our life without the Lord as the center! You want joy? You want peace that passes all understanding? You want eternal life? You want unconditional love that cannot be explained? It can be found in a relationship with Jesus!!! :)
